Zarlink Semiconductor Appoints Adam Chowaniec to Its Board of Directors
Zarlink Semiconductor Inc. of Ottawa, Ontario, a provider of semiconductor solutions for voice-and-data networks, optoelectronics and ultralow-power communications, announced the appointment of Adam Chowaniec to its board of directors. Chowaniec is currently board chairman of Tundra Semiconductor and was founding CEO of the company in 1995. He is chair of the Ontario Research and Innovation Council and executive-in-residence at Vengrowth Capital Partners Inc. He serves on numerous boards of directors in Canada and the US, including BelAir Networks, Liquid Computing Corp., Gridway and Microbridge. Chowaniec has held positions with the Ottawa Economic Development Corp., the National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program and the Ottawa Health Research Institute. He has also worked in academia, research and development, engineering and executive management at Acadia University, Bell Northern Research, Nortel Networks, Commodore International, Calmos Systems and Newbridge Networks.
