Xtera Revenues Soar in Fiscal 2015
Optical transport technology company Xtera Communications Inc. more than doubled its revenues in the last fiscal year leading up to its initial public offering.
Xtera reported revenues of $58.7 million, compared to $25.0 million in fiscal 2014. The company's net loss shrank from $26.1 million in fiscal 2014 to $16.6 million in fiscal 2015.
CEO Jon Hopper said 2015 "was a year of significant progress for Xtera as we more than doubled our revenue, successfully demonstrated in a real-world network the industry's highest-capacity, longest-reach solution at 64 Tb/s per fiber pair with reach of over 1,500 km, began commercial sales of our submarine repeater, and strengthened our balance sheet with our IPO last month."
Xtera specializes in network infrastructure and provides high-capacity optical transport technology to telecommunications service providers, content service providers, data center operators, enterprises and government entities to support deployments of terrestrial and submarine optical cable networks. The company's optical amplification and other technologies are deployed in more than 60 countries across five continents.
