World of Photonics Congress to Bridge Theory and Practice

The 24th World of Photonics Congress is set to take place in Munich on June 23-27. Featuring seven scientific conferences under one roof and coinciding with the LASER World of PHOTONICS, highlights will include plenaries from notables such as Gérard Mourou, the founding director of the Center for Ultrafast Optical Science at the University of Michigan and a winner of the Nobel Prize in physics; Karsten Danzmann, a director at Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics; and Michal Lipson, a professor at Columbia University and a pioneer in the field of silicon photonics.

World of Photonics Congress West Entrance

The World of Photonics Congress 2019 encompasses industrial production, optical components and systems, measurement imaging, and biological/medical applications. The conferences include:

CLEO Europe — EQEC

Showcasing advancements in a wide range of laser and photonics areas, the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics/Europe (CLEO/Europe) is the largest gathering of optics and photonics researchers and engineers in Europe. The European Quantum Electronics Conference (EQEC), held in tandem with CLEO/Europe, features the essentials of quantum optics.

LiM

Lasers in Manufacturing (LiM 2019) will feature developments and future trends in the field of laser material processing and consist of three subconferences on the topics of macro applications, micro applications, and additive manufacturing.

EOS Optical Technologies

EOS Optical Technologies will include the Conference on Manufacturing, Tolerancing and Testing of Optical Systems — which covers the trends and technologies in the field of optics fabrication and testing — and the Conference on Optofluidics, which will explore trends in the integration of optics with microfluidics.

Imaging and Applied Optics

A comprehensive view of the latest developments in imaging and applied optical sciences will be provided by the Imaging and Applied Optics Congress, including applications of these technologies to important industrial, military, and medical challenges.

Digital Optical Technologies

Digital Optical Technologies will reflect on trends in displays, 3D sensors, light sources, and optics designed and fabricated or enhanced by digital means.

Optical Metrology

Optical Metrology will focus on the latest research in measurement systems, optical metrology, modeling, videometrics, inspection, and machine vision. Covered applications will include solving measurement and inspection problems in industrial design and production engineering, vehicle navigation, multimedia technology, architecture, archaeology, and the arts.

European Conferences on Biomedical Optics

European Conferences on Biomedical Optics (ECBO) will cover basic science, new technology, and applications in the fields of advanced microscopy, clinical and biomedical spectroscopy, diffuse optical imaging, molecular imaging, optical coherence tomography and other coherence techniques, therapeutic laser applications, laser-tissue interactions, optoacoustic methods, and other new biophotonics techniques.
