William Miller Promoted to President at Veeco
PLAINVIEW, N.Y., Jan. 5, 2016 — Veeco Instruments Inc. has promoted William J. Miller from executive vice president of process equipment, a position he's held since 2011, to president of the company.
As president, Miller will have direct responsibility for the company's business units and central R&D, and will continue to oversee global manufacturing operations, as he has done since last year.
Miller joined Veeco in 2002, holding a number of technology and operations roles including vice president and general manager of the data storage equipment business, senior vice president and general manager of the metal organic chemical vapor phase deposition business and executive vice president for compound semiconductors.
Miller earned his doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Veeco provides processing equipment and technology for manufacturing LEDs, displays, power electronics, compound semiconductors, hard disk drives, microelectromechanical systems and wireless chips.
