Vitrealab Appoints CEO: People in the News: 10/30/24

VIENNA, Oct. 30, 2024 — Vitrealab, a developer of display technology for VR and AR, has appointed Ronny Timmreck CEO. Timmreck currently serves as chairman of Sixonia Tech GmbH’s board and has prior leadership experience as CEO of companies including Bahama Invest & Consult, leXsolar GmbH, deepXscan, and Senorics.

CAMBRIDGE, England — Quantum entanglement startup Nu Quantum has added Roland Acra to its advisory board. Acra’s career spans over three decades of technology and innovation leadership, mainly focusing on networking and data center technology. He previously served as chief business officer for PsiQuantum and CTO for Cisco.

ST. FLORIAN, Austria — EV Group, a provider of process solutions for semiconductor designs and chip integration schemes, has appointed Alexander Rank as executive corporate functions director effective immediately. Rank, who has been with the company for more than 10 years, will be responsible for finance and controlling, purchasing, and human resources as well as other corporate functions in his new role.

CHELMSFORD, England — LASER COMPONENTS UK has appointed Dan Barlow to the role of general manager, succeeding Chris Varney who is stepping down as managing director. Barlow joined the company as head of sales in January and has previously held directorship and sales roles at Paragraf’s sensors unit and G&H Photonics, respectively.

WAUSAU, Wis. — The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) has added Bahman Anvari as editor in chief of the society’s Lasers in Surgery and Medicine journal. Anvari’s research is focused on the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of lasers and light-based devices, and the engineering of novel optical micro- and nano-sized materials for photomedicine. He is a co-inventor on several patents related to the cryogenic spray cooling technology for dermatological applications and has been a member of ASLMS since 1998.
