Visionary.ai Receives Investment from National Grid Partners

Visionary.ai, a developer of AI for real-time video enhancement, has received multimillion-dollar investment from National Grid Partners, the venture investment and innovation arm of National Grid. The investment focuses on the need to monitor electricity grids.

According to Lisa Lambert, National Grid chief technology and innovation officer and president of National Grid Partners, electricity grids by their nature incorporate many geographically distributed assets and must be monitored for safety, security, and signs of damage or malfunction.

Visionary.ai’s software-based image signal processor technology leverages AI on the Edge to enable improved performance and improved image sharpness in color and in real time for cameras operating in extreme low-light conditions for a broad range of industries.

“The technology that Visionary.ai is developing can help with the need for increased security of electricity supply and the battle against climate change,” Lambert said.

According to Visionary.ai co-founder and CEO Oren Debbi, the company is experiencing a surge in interest in their technology from a range of industries. With the company’s first products now production-ready, the investment will enable Visionary.ai to expand the range of solutions that it can offer to its customers.

computational imaging
Computational imaging refers to the use of computational techniques, algorithms, and hardware to enhance or enable imaging capabilities beyond what traditional optical systems can achieve. It involves the integration of digital processing with imaging systems to improve image quality, extract additional information from captured data, or enable novel imaging functionalities. Principles: Computational imaging combines optics, digital signal processing, and algorithms to manipulate and...
image signal processor
An image signal processor (ISP) is a hardware component or subsystem in digital imaging devices responsible for capturing, processing, and enhancing images from a camera sensor. The ISP performs various tasks to convert raw sensor data into a high-quality image suitable for display or further processing. These tasks typically include: Demosaicing: Converting the raw sensor data from a color filter array (such as Bayer filter) into a full-color image. Noise reduction: Filtering out...
