Veeco Instruments Inc. of Woodbury, N.Y., has opened a 15,000-sq-ft epitaxial process-integration center in St. Paul, Minn., adjacent to its molecular beam epitaxy facility. The center, which is equipped with the company's research and development and production molecular beam epitaxy systems, will develop processes and procedures for its customers' material systems and device structures.

Veeco intends its activities to enable its customers in wireless and optoelectronic device manufacturing to lower their risk and costs in process development, to improve product quality and to accelerate time to production.
