Software provider Vector Informatik has acquired a majority stake in AI and camera sensor specialist EYYES GmbH. The acquired company will continue its business activities independently, the companies said. EYYES has developed technologies for driver assistance and traffic perception with artificial intelligence based on camera sensors. Its technology enables warning systems for front collision, approach, reversing, rear-end and turn-off warning. According to Vector CEO Thomas Riegraf, the acquisition will enable technological synergies between the companies in driver assistance for rail and commercial vehicles. EYYES founder and CEO Johannes Traxler believes the acquisition and partnership will enable partnerships for large and series projects and catalyze continued growth. Founded in 2013 as AVI Systems, EYYES currently has 28 employees across three locations in Austria and Germany. The company cooperates with international research institutes such as AIT, Software Competence Center Hagenberg, and Fraunhofer. EYYES is involved in various research projects exploring the use of AI in traffic to improve safety.
