SAN JOSE, Calif., April 29 -- Uniphase Corp. reported record net sales of $74.5 million for its third quarter of fiscal 1999, an increase of 55% from the $47.9 million reported in the same period of fiscal 1998. Net sales for the nine months ended March 31, 1999 were $195.7 million, up 47% from the $133.4 million reported in the same period of the prior year.
Sales of the Company's telecommunications and cable TV products for the third quarter of fiscal 1999 increased 105% over the comparable period of 1998, and rose 26% above reported sales in the second quarter of fiscal 1999. Sales of these products for the first nine months of 1999 were 80% above sales reported in the same period of fiscal 1998.
