Trimble of Sunnyvale, Calif., has purchased Apache Technologies Inc., a specialist in laser detection technologies, in an all-cash transaction. Through the acquisition, the Dayton, Ohio, company expands its distribution network and Trimble extends its offerings in handheld laser detectors, and entry-level machine displays and control systems. Functioning as a wholly owned subsidiary, Apache reports within Trimble's Engineering and Construction unit. Both companies will develop laser technology for the construction market.
