MORGANVILLE, N.J., March 9, 2010 – Fiber fusion splicing, assembly and fiber-based glass processing solutions supplier Vytran LLC has hired Jim Tracey as its sales engineer for North America.
With a primary focus on developing the company’s business in the sensing, medical and research markets, Tracey brings more than 20 years of experience in the laser industry.
Prior to joining the company, he served as the North American business development manager at Newport Corp.’s Spectra-Physics Semiconductor Laser Group, responsible for defense and aerospace, solid-state pumping and direct-diode materials processing markets. He has also served as an international sales manager for Northrop Grumman Cutting Edge Optronics, where he managed the company’s Australian, European, Middle Eastern and South American territories.
Additionally, he has served as a fiber laser engineer at SDL and as a laser engineer at Spectra-Physics’ laser products division.
