Photonic product manufacturer Thorlabs Inc. of Newton, N.J., has acquired Radians Innova AB, an OEM provider of modular external cavity laser sources offering continuous high-speed tuning, wavelength stability and an industrial package suitable for harsh environments. Designed for optical telecommunications, sensing and spectroscopy purposes, the devices complement Thorlabs' expanding line of test and measurement equipment.

Radians will remain at its base in Gothenburg, Sweden, serving as a hub for Thorlabs' ongoing expansion in the Nordic countries and as a research and development center for tunable laser products. It also will collaborate on a broader range of products with development teams in the US and Germany.
