Thermo Fisher Forms Advisory Board

WALTHAM, Mass., Oct. 20, 2010 — Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a company that strives to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer, announced the formation of a scientific advisory board to formalize the two-way exchange of technological information between itself and representatives from some of the world’s premiere centers of health, science and education.

At its inaugural meeting, Marc N. Casper, president and CEO of Thermo Fisher, was joined by board member Tyler Jacks, Ph.D.; David H. Koch; professor of biology at MIT and director of the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research; as well as R&D leaders representing the company’s growth platforms.

In addition, external members of the board include Ronald W. Davis, Stanford University, Department of Biochemistry; Steven P.Gygi, Ph.D., Harvard Medical School, Department of Cell Biology; William C. Hahn, M.D., Ph.D., Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Department of Medical Oncology; and David R. Hillyard, M.D., University of Utah, Department of Pathology.

“The insight and distinct expertise of each member of our Scientific Advisory Board will be invaluable in helping us set a course for the innovation of new products and services that will meet the changing needs of our customers,” said Casper.
