XIAMEN, China, Feb. 28 -- The second annual International Forum on Solid-State Lighting, "Synchronizing the International Integration of Solid-State Lighting," will be held April 12 -15 in Xiamen, China, along with the ninth annual China Xiamen Machinery & Electronics Exhibition.
The forum will highlight achievements in the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry and in research at home and abroad, including key technologies, trends in market development, application market analysis and opportunity related to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China's SSL industry, SSL application design and standards organizations, investment opportunities and solar energy-related SSL applications.
Speakers will include SSL industry representatives fromn China, Taiwan and Korea and from companies such as Epistar (BJ Lee, chip performance progress), Lumileds (George Craford, chip performance progress), Aixtron (Michael Heuken, MOCVD tech for SSL), University of Southern California (Asif Khan, deep ultraviolet LED-based SSL and water purification systems), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Nadarajah Narendran, thermal management, improved metrics), LED Consulting (Kathryn Conway, power LED package), Lamina Ceramics (Taylor Adair, high-lumen LEDs) and Barco (Bob Barson/Aaron Beddes, LED in displays).
The forum is being hosted by the Governing Committee for China Solid State Lighting, the China Illuminating Engineering Society (CIES) and the China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI). Organizers are the R&D and Industry Alliance for China Solid State Lighting, the National Advanced Materials Productivity Promotion Center, the Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau and the China (Xiamen) International Investment Promotion Center.
