Sunovia Energy Technologies Inc. of Sarasota, Fla., a renewable energy and energy conservation company, has signed an agreement with Epir Technologies Inc. of Bolingbrook, Ill., a developer of solar cells and modules for space and terrestrial applications. The agreement provides each company with 10 percent ownership of the other. The partners have been awarded a contract from NASA to develop high-efficiency ultralightweight solar cells with a thickness one-tenth of those that are currently in use. The cells will be used to power spacecraft and for propulsion on various scientific missions.
