BEDFORD, Mass., Oct. 29 -- Spire Corp. has formed the Spire Medical Products Group to work with medical device manufacturers and clinicians to bring to market medical products that incorporate Spire's surface treatments. Products currently under development include vascular access devices that reduce blood clot formation, minimize adverse immune reactions, and lower infection rates.
Spire announced that Mark Little will manage the Medical Products group, while P.J. Anand -- formerly of Toxikon Corp., and a recent addition as Spire's business development manager -- will identify new product opportunities, head up marketing and oversee strategic regulatory planning. Eric Tobin will be responsible for product development for the new group.
