The National Science Foundation has awarded a nearly $500,000 Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant to SpectralSight, a company spun off by Infotonics Technology Center, both of Canandaigua, N.Y. The grant will be used to develop a hyperspectral miniature camera based on a tunable Fabry-Perot microelectromechanical systems device that is being developed at the center. The camera will analyze wavelengths outside the visible spectrum and will have applications in medicine, agriculture and defense.
