Soft Robotics Divests Soft Gripping Business, Becomes Oxipital AI

BOSTON, Aug. 6, 2024 — Soft Robotics Inc., a provider of soft gripping, 3D vision, and AI solutions for industrial automation, has divested its gripper business assets to the Schmalz Group for an undisclosed sum. Amidst the divestiture, the company has reformed as Oxipital AI.

Under its new brand identity, the company will focus its resources and expertise on advancing the commercialization of its groundbreaking end-to-end visual AI solutions optimized for high-speed product inspection and robotic picking. The company’s solutions target industries including food processing, agriculture, and consumer goods production.

Soft Robotics named industry veteran and former company CTO and COO Mark Chiappetta as president and CEO earlier this year.
