A Hanergy Solar Group subsidiary has agreed to pay Singulus Technologies more than € 15 million for thin-film deposition equipment to be used at Hanergy’s new high-efficiency solar cell factory in Caofeidian, China. Singulus’ Tenuis II machine performs buffer layer deposition, which the company said presents a development in efficient wet-chemical coating of copper-indium-gallium-selenium (CIGS) solar modules. It has a modular cluster build basis, which the company said facilitates the simultaneous one-side coating of two substrates. Hanergy is in the process of building a 600 MW CIGS production facility. The company says it has achieved 20.5 percent solar conversion efficiency using CIGS. For more information, visit www.singulus.com and www.hanergy.com.
