Sheba Adds Senior Strategic Advisor: People in the News: 6/12/24

BOSTON, June 12, 2024 — Metalenz, a meta-optics technology company, appointed Gaurav Aggarwal vice president of software and systems engineering and Mari-Anne Gagliardi vice president of operations. Before joining Metalenz, Aggarwal was director of back-end software engineering at Snorkel AI and has held engineering leadership roles at Broadcom, Immedia/Blink, Samsung Research, and Facebook (Meta Platforms) where he worked on Oculus AR and VR projects. Most recently, Gagliardi served as director of operations at Qorvo Power Device Solutions and as vice president of operations for United Silicon Carbide Inc. where she focused on developing the company’s silicon carbide product supply chains.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Optics manufacturer Syntec Optics named Dean Rudy CFO. Rudy brings more than 30 years of experience in financial and operational leadership skills cultivated in small, medium, and Fortune 100-sized businesses. He has prior CFO experience at Auction Direct USA, Vanguard Printing, and Ben Weitsman & Son of Rochester.  Rudy started his career at Xerox’s Inkjet Copier business.

TORONTO — Sheba Microsystems Inc., a developer of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technologies, appointed Matt Crowley senior strategic advisor. Crowley brings more than 20 years of experience in MEMS technologies, with prior roles as a board member for Nanusens, strategic advisor for Lelantos, and as senior director for business development at Qualcomm. He will support Sheba’s efforts to bring its silicon MEMS microactuators to the global market in high-performance cameras for industries including automotive, consumer electronics, transportation, robotics, and security.

ZURICH — Additive manufacturing startup Scrona AG named Patrick Heissler CEO, with co-founders Patrick Galliker and Julian Schneider transitioning to the roles of CTO and CPO, respectively. Heissler previously held the positions of Corporate CCO at Focuslight Technologies, CSO of SUSS MicroOptics SA, and product manager of DELO Industrial Adhesives.

LINARES, Spain — Meltio, producer of industrial additive manufacturing wire-laser metal deposition systems, appointed Meaghan Ferris commercial vice president and Gabriel Ortiz channel manager in the U.S. Ferris previously served as global head of go-to-market and sales of HP’s 3D metal print division. She will take charge of operations for states east of the Mississippi River. Ortiz, who has more than 25 years of experience at Panasonic Factory Automation and other companies, will take charge of the Western half of the U.S.
