Shasta Crystals Adds Three to Advisory Board

SAN FRANCISCO, June 10, 2015 — Shasta Crystals Inc. has named three new members to its advisory board. The board now comprises six leaders in academia and industry with expertise in crystal growth, international business development, laser engineering, medical laser markets and new product development.

The new members are: Alexander Kachanov, principal scientist and group leader at Li-Cor Biosciences; Dale Koop, CEO of Perigee Medical LLC; and Raja M. Parvez, former president and CEO of Rubicon Technology Inc.

They join advisers Robert Feigelson, an emeritus professor of materials science and engineering at Stanford University; Michel Ferriol, a professor at the University of Metz; and Roger Route, a senior research associate at Stanford's Ginzton Laboratory.

Shasta Crystals grows advanced materials that are critical components in laser systems serving a variety of markets, such as industrial, medical, scientific, military and consumer electronics. The company's laser heated pedestal growth (LHPG) technology produces cladded single-crystal fibers and thin crystal rods for high-power lasers and amplifiers.
