(Newstream), May 2 -- Sharp Systems of America, a US unit of Sharp Corp., announced the introduction of six feature-rich color LCD monitors into the US market. The family of Sharp LCD monitors includes three 15-inch displays (LL-T151S1A, LL-T1511A and LL-T1501A), a unique 16-inch monitor (LL-T1610W) that offers a large-format resolution at a breakthrough price, and two high-resolution, large-format 18- and 20-in. displays (LL-T1810A and LL-T2000A). "Corporations recognize the value of using LCD displays as they take up less desk space than a conventional CRT monitor -- a significant concern in compact offices and trading floors -- and also due to reduced eyestrain, heat, power and emission considerations," said Eric Haruki, research manager at IDC. "When you have several hundred or even thousands of people using computers within a single site, the potential energy and cost savings of switching from CRT monitors to LCD monitors could be fairly significant."
