The PerkinElmer Life Science & Diagnostics business acquired by New Mountain Capital named Dirk Bontridder CEO. Bontridder has more than 25 years of global management experience, including 11 years at Eurofins Scientific Services, where he was group executive vice president and oversaw multiple segments of the business. The newly independent company includes the flagship OneSource laboratory and field services, as well as a portfolio of atomic spectroscopy, molecular spectroscopy and chromatography instruments, consumables, and reagents for the biopharma, food, environmental, safety, and applied end markets. LEESBURG, Va. — Quantum Computing Inc. named the second appointment to its technical advisory board launched Feb. 2. Effective immediately, Brian LaMacchia joins U.S. intelligence community veteran and technology strategist James Simon Jr., who heads the board. LaMacchia recently retired from Microsoft Corp. where he was a distinguished engineer and head of the Security and Cryptography team. CAMARILLO, Calif. — Semtech Corp. promoted Asaf Silberstein to the newly created role of COO from his previous position as executive vice president of worldwide operations and information technology. Silberstein has more than two decades of operations experience in the semiconductor industry. He joined Semtech in 2011 as vice president of operations managing Semtech’s supply chain and operations, and he added information technology to his responsibilities in 2016. Armstrong steps into the role as Jeff Schmitz, who most recently served as chief human resources and marketing officer, becomes Zebra’s chief people officer. Armstrong joined Zebra in 2014 when the company acquired Motorola Solutions’ Enterprise business. Since that time, he has held various leadership roles in marketing, most recently serving as senior vice president of integrated marketing and channels.
