Semrock Reveals Facility Expansion
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 1, 2012 — At a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month, Semrock Inc., a unit of Idex Corp.’s Optics & Photonics (IOP) platform, opened a high-volume manufacturing facility capable of producing tens of thousands of optical filters per year.

The expansion will also enable Semrock to focus on high-volume miniaturized optics for the emerging diagnostic and point-of-care health care market.
“We have taken our advanced optical design and manufacturing capabilities to the next level with this new facility,” said Semrock general manager Rob Beeson. “As the revolution in personal health care proceeds, Semrock will continue to be at the forefront of enabling optical technology.”

Presentations at the ceremony were given by Dr. Michael J. Cumbo, president of IOP, Beeson and Dr. Craig Hodgson, director of research and development at Semrock. A Q&A session and media tour of the new site concluded the event.
Semrock supports the biotech and analytical instrumentation market with three product platforms — optical filters for fluorescence instrumentation and microscopy, Raman instrumentation filters and laser analytical instrumentation filters.
