Schott-CML Fiberoptics, the joint venture between SLI Inc. and Schott Corp., has signed a letter of intent to acquire Fostec Inc. in Auburn, N.Y. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 1987, Fostec manufactures fiber optic components and illumination systems for machine vision, microscopy, photography and biomedical laboratory applications. The company also provides analytical instruments, inspection systems and custom-designed OEM components.
