NASHUA, NH, Aug. 17 -- Sanders, an operating company of the Lockheed Martin Corp., announced the completion of the first stage of Contractor Flight Testing for the Advanced Threat Infrared Countermeasures/Common Missile Warning System (ATIRCM/CMWS). The Captive Seeker Testing operation was carried out on an Army EH-60 helicopter in Merrimack, N.H. by employees of Sanders and test personnel from the US Army's Aviation Technical Test Center. The tests showed that the ATIRCM/CMWS could out-maneuver five key missile seekers, as well as assembled data to help reduce the likelihood of false alarms. Testing procedures to determine the system's ability to detect and defeat a missile threat on a moving platform will take place at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. The EH-60 helicopter will remain as the test platform for sled testing that began at Holloman on Aug. 11.
