SPI Lasers UK Purchases Rugby UK Site
Fiber laser developer SPI Lasers UK Ltd. has purchased an 8.1-acre Rugby-based manufacturing site from its landlord, Kedaho Investments Ltd., in a deal worth £10.3 million ($13.2 million).
The purchase will expand SPI’s manufacturing footprint in Rugby by approximately 100 percent, bringing its total usable space up to approximately 80,000 sq ft. Over the coming months, the newly acquired site will be the subject of a multimillion pound refurbishment with the intent to utilize the additional space to accelerate SPI’s vertical integration programs and further optimize its manufacturing and production processes.
This announcement follows SPI’s growth at its Southampton headquarters and its increased presence in China and the U.S.
SPI Lasers, a wholly owned subsidiary of the TRUMPF Group, is a designer and manufacturer of fiber lasers for use in materials processing applications in a wide range of industries.
