SICK, Endress+Hauser to Form Joint Venture
SICK AG, a sensor-based solutions provider, and Endress+Hauser AG, a measurement and automation technology company, have entered into a strategic partnership for sustainability in process automation. Per the agreement, the companies will form a joint venture tasked with the development and production of process-related solutions for decarbonization, with each company holding a 50% stake.
SICK has agreed to contribute the production units of its cleaner industries business, together with about 730 employees from various sites in Germany, to the joint venture. Endress+Hauser will market the joint venture’s product solutions via its sales centers to further customers in the process industry, reach new markets, and open new fields of application. SICK will also transfer about 800 employees in 42 countries from its global sales and service units to Endress+Hauser with a focus on cleaner industries.
The agreement builds off of a previous collaboration in October in which the companies signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing to jointly market and develop SICK’s analyzer and gas flow meter technologies and support decarbonization efforts in process automation.
The companies tentatively expect the deal to close between late 2024 and early 2025.
