MONTREAL, July 12 -- Silicon Graphics Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.), Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH (Oberkochen, Germany), and Schneider Laser Technologies AG (Turkhein, Germany) are teaming-up to sell solutions to planetariums that will allow for the projection of high-resolution 3-D graphics in real time. Carl Zeiss Jena's projection system, the Zeiss-All-Dome-Projection-System, is based on laser technology provided by Schneider. The system will project images generated by Silicon Graphics' Onyx2 and next-generation Onyx visualization systems onto immersive domes. The Denver Museum of Nature and Science plans to furnish its up -coming planetarium with the high-tech projection system, the group said. The three companies announced their plan to market the projection system at this year's International Planetarium Society Conference in Montreal.
