Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc. of Plymouth, and Fanuc Robotics North America Inc. of Rochester Hills, both in Michigan, have signed an agreement granting Fanuc the right to manufacture and sell laser sources designed by Rofin. The exclusive technical license agreement covers diode-pumped rod-type solid-state lasers used for materials processing. Fanuc will use its own high-power diode modules in the systems and can distribute the products worldwide in combination with its robots and robotic systems.
