Rochester Laser Lab Receives $82M in Funding

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 4, 2021 — The OMEGA Laser Facility at the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) has received $82 million in funding as part of the federal fiscal year 2021 appropriations package. The funding is part of $575 million granted to the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Inertial Confinement Fusion program in the bipartisan 2021 appropriations package. The funding will help realize milestones laid out in the current five-year cooperative agreement between the LLE and NNSA.
