Rheinmetall AG and MBDA Deutschland will collaborate on high-energy laser effector systems for the German navy. The two companies will construct, integrate, and test a laser demonstrator on a navy corvette. The division of responsibilities of the two defense companies will be determined once a performance specification is made available by the Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology, and In-Service Support, Germany’s military procurement agency.
