Before that, she served as vice president of financial planning and analysis at Vista Equity Partners’ PlanSource and as director of financial planning and analysis for Mitsubishi Power Americas. UNION CITY, Calif. — Optical networking and cable supplier Proficium LLC has added Brian Patton as its CTO, effective immediately. He will oversee the design, development, and implementation of high-end connectivity products, according to the company. LEUVEN, Belgium — Swave Photonics, a developer of holographic display technology, has hired Joel Kollin as the company’s director of optical architecture, where he will focus on optimizing Swave’s optical architecture for AR smart glasses. Kollin previously spent over a decade at Microsoft as a principal optical architect. Prior to Microsoft, he co-invented and developed the early prototype of the first holographic video display system as his master’s thesis at the MIT Media Lab, as well as the virtual retinal display at the University of Washington Human Interface Technology Lab. Meldrum is an executive business leader with 25 years of photonics, semiconductor, and telecommunications experience. He has worked at several organizations such as G&H, Oclaro, and Bookham and has held various positions including CEO and CCO.
