Thermo Fisher Acquires Biolab

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. of Waltham, Mass., a service and solutions supplier for research, analysis, discovery and diagnostics, has entered into an agreement to acquire Biolab for $120 million. The latter company is the scientific and medical division of Alesco Corp. Ltd. and is a provider of analytical instruments, life science consumables and laboratory equipment in Australia and New Zealand. Expected to be completed April 30, 2009, it will be integrated into the former company’s laboratory products and services segment.Read full article
