Study Finds 'Eco-friendly' LEDs Are Toxic

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 17, 2011 — Small LEDs found in holiday bulbs, traffic lights and car headlights and marketed as safe, environmentally preferable alternatives to traditional light bulbs actually contain lead, arsenic and a dozen other potentially hazardous substances, according to newly published research. “LEDs are touted as the next generation of lighting.
