KENT, England, Dec. 13 -- Sira Electro-Optics Ltd. and the Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology have signed a license agreement that gives Sira exclusive rights to market and manufacture an optical diffractometer that was developed by Brad Amos, principal scientist at the MRC lab. Optical diffractometers are used by molecular biologists for rapid evaluation of electron microscope images of biological molecules and structures. Sira said the optical diffractometer is capable of simultaneous display and capture of real-space and Fourier-space images and advanced optical...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesPhotoswitchable Biosystems Make Way for Intelligent Drug DeliveryA photoswitchable biosystem for the development of synthetic cells could provide a noninvasive way to design intelligent drug delivery systems for cell repair, advancing applications in...BioPhotonics Jul/Aug 2024 IssueSynthesized Nanoresonators Harness Power of IR for Optics and ElectronicsWhen combined with electronics, infrared (IR) light can enable small, fast devices for sensing, imaging, and signaling at the molecular level.
