CANTON, Mass., July 15 -- Robotic Vision Systems Inc. has received orders worth $7.8 million for the company's advanced semiconductor inspection equipment. The orders were placed by four large integrated circuit manufacturers and received by RVSI's Semiconductor Equipment Group.Pat V. Costa, chairman and CEO of RVSI, attributed the bookings to the improvement in the semiconductor industry's book-to-bill ratio and to increases in capacity utilization. Our Semiconductor Equipment Group, which provides machine-vision-based semiconductor packaging and inspection equipment, is going through a period of excellent bookings growth, Costa said.
