Three divisions of vision metrology company Quality Vision International Inc. (QVI) recently completed a move across Tempe into a larger, more modern facility, the company announced this week. The new QVI building in Tempe, Ariz., is dedicated on Oct. 11, 2010. (Image: QVI) The 12,500 sq-ft technical center houses the sales and service operations of Optical Gaging Products (OGP), VIEW Micro-Metrology, and the Quality Vision Services (QVS) divisions of QVI. The new building is designed to provide sales and applications support, service, and training for the company's customers in the western US, Mexico, and western Canada. QVI said the move reinforces its commitment to the region; its first Arizona office was established in 1985. "The new, larger facility will allow us to do applications studies, provide support and perform demonstrations simultaneously," said R. Stephen Flynn, president of OGP. The new facility includes a 1100-sq-ft equipment showroom with ±1 °C temperature control and is located at 1711 West 17th St. OGP makes noncontact and multisensor dimensional measurement systems, optical comparators and laser surface scanners for manufacturing quality control. VIEW Micro-Metrology produces video coordinate measuring systems for process control metrology, and QVS is the parent company of RAM Optical Instrumentation and Certified Comparator Products.
