Predesigned Perovskites with Edge Lasing Allow Nonlinear Optical Effects

WARSAW, Poland, Aug. 27, 2024 — The optical, lasing, and waveguiding capabilities of perovskite make this material a promising platform for integrated photonic circuits for classical and quantum signal processing. A research team from the University of Warsaw, in collaboration with institutions in Europe and Australia, developed a way to efficiently fabricate large-scale waveguiding perovskite crystals in predefined shapes such as couplers, splitters, or microwires.
