AMSTERDAM, April 15 -- Royal Philips Electronics NV said it had signed an agreement with Taiwanese handset and computer-component maker BenQ Corp. to develop optical storage data drives for the personal-computer industry. Philips didn't reveal any financial details, but said the deal will enhance its position and focus on setting technology standards in the optical storage market.
