Palomar Medical Technologies Inc., a developer of light-based systems for cosmetic treatments, announced that it would move the launch of its patented, home-use laser for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles by a few months. The laser is the only one in the US with over-the-counter clearance from the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles around the eye, according to the company. “The change in the timing of our launch is related to the use of lotion with the laser,” said Joseph P. Caruso, CEO. “The laser is in production, and we are building inventory for the launch.” Hundreds of participants have used the home-use laser in many treatments and were pleased with the results, according to a clinical study.
