Princeton Instruments (PI) of Trenton, N.J., announced that Ed Gooding has been promoted to product manager of the Spectroscopy Group, Greg Combs has been promoted to product manager of the Industrial Group, and Matt Lyons has joined the company as sales and marketing manager for the Acton Optics & Coatings product line. Gooding, previously PI’s applications specialist for spectroscopy, holds a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining PI, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Pittsburgh and as a visiting professor at Swarthmore College. Gooding has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. Combs, who has more than 15 years of experience creating imaging solutions in the machine vision and consumer electronics markets, has been with the company for seven years, working as lead sales applications engineer for the Megaplus camera line. Lyons joins PI having held positions at Tiger Optics (Warrington, Pa.) as the US sales director, as product specialist at Entegris (Chaska, Minn.) and as regional sales manager for Delta F Corp. (Woburn, Mass.). He holds a BS in chemical engineering from Northeastern University. Princeton Instruments makes high-performance CCD, ICCD and EMCCD cameras, spectrographs and optics-based products for the scientific research, industrial imaging and OEM markets.
