Omron Automation has opened the Omron Advanced Motion Research and Development Center in Chatsworth, Calif. The facility includes a production area and an in-house engineering team led by Curt Wilson, senior director of engineering. The facility will continue work on precision high-speed motion technology pioneered by Delta Tau Data Systems, which was acquired by Omron in 2015. Omron Automation said that the expansion enables the company to develop highly precise, high-speed motion technology that supports customers throughout the semiconductor, medical, packaging, and scientific research industries, among others.
