Oclaro Inc. of San Jose, Calif., announced today that it was the only supplier in the optical category to receive an Excellent Core Partner Award from China-based telecommunications equipment maker Huawei at the Huawei 2009 Core Partner Convention. Oclaro supplies optical components and modules for communications, industrial and consumer applications. The award represents the fifth significant vendor recognition Oclaro has received from Huawei, the company said. “As one of the industry’s top vendors with global sales to the world’s largest carriers, Huawei is a very important and strategic customer for our company,” said Alain Couder, Oclaro CEO. “Our customers need reliable suppliers who can consistently deliver quality products with short lead times and add real value with local sales support; we achieve this through the combination of our ownership of core technologies and manufacturing facilities.”
