Organizers announced that OFC 2021 will be held from June 6 to June 10, 2021, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The exhibition will be from June 8 to June 10. The conference was originally scheduled for March 28 to April 1. “By moving the event to these new dates, we not only increase the likelihood that we will be able meet together in person and so able to enjoy both the usual on-site programming and exhibits, but it also better aligns the timing of OFC with other major conferences that have shifted their timing in response to the pandemic,” said OFC 2021 Steering Committee Chair Seb Savory, of the IEEE/Photonics Society and the University of Cambridge. OFC 2021 will introduce a blended in-person and virtual format. The plenary program will include live on-site presentations from the latest research and applications in optical fiber communication. The OFC 2021 technical program will explore the latest in optical communications innovation, data center connectivity, machine learning/AI applications of optical networks in 5G, and cloud computing. The new abstract and summary submission deadline is Jan. 26, 2021. Further details about the call for papers, speaking submissions, the conference, and the exhibition will be forthcoming, organizers said.
