OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada, Jan. 17 -- Mitel Corp. and the National Research Council of Canada have created a company called Optenia, which is the result of an R&D project designed to supply photonic components for the optical networking market. Optenia was formed to push the frontiers in optical communications by designing and manufacturing components targeted at dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM), said Moris Simson, CEO of Optenia. Our products will appeal to providers of high-performance optical Internet systems, in particular those concentrating on the local Internet.
