Machine vision software developer MVTec Software GmbH is collaborating with ARM-embedded computer module developer Toradex Inc. to simplify machine vision on embedded devices. HPeek is a tool that allows users to easily check the performance of embedded devices for typical machine vision applications without the need for any license. It enables evaluation of the functionality of MVTec HALCON, the comprehensive standard software for machine vision with an integrated environment. HALCON simplifies tasks such as blob analysis, morphology, matching, measuring, identification, and 3D vision. To accelerate the execution, it supports Arm NEON as well as graphics processing unit acceleration. Toradex presented a webinar on April 26 for participants to experience HPeek and learn how to develop a program with HALCON. It is available on the Toradex website for viewing. “We are very happy about the collaboration with Toradex,” said Christoph Wagner, product manager for embedded vision at MVTec. “MVTec HALCON is banking on Toradex’s embedded Arm-based computer modules. In conjunction with HALCON, these modules are ideally suited for embedded vision applications. Having the possibility to download HPeek directly via the Toradex Easy Installer will be of great benefit for customers.” MVTec products are used in imaging areas such as semiconductors, web inspection, quality control, inspection applications, medicine, 3D vision, and surveillance.
