Laser-Based Logic Gate Speeds Up Information Processing

A logic gate developed by researchers from the University of Rochester and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg operates at femtosecond timescales, potentially enabling information processing at the petahertz limit.
