L-3 Acquires Two Companies

L-3 Communications of New York has bought Brashear LP of Pittsburgh for roughly $36 million. Also, its intended acquisition of Cincinnati Electronics of Mason, Ohio, from CMC Electronics Inc. of Montreal for approximately $172 million was expected to be approved in July. Both were cash transactions. L-3 expects to benefit particularly from Brashear's electro-optical systems and Cincinnati Electronics' infrared and space electronics operations. The company is a provider of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, among other products and services.Read full article
