    binoculars
Binoculars are optical instruments used for magnifying distant objects by using two parallel telescopes mounted side by side. They allow users to see distant objects more clearly and in greater detail than with the naked eye. Binoculars consist of lenses and prisms that gather and focus light from the viewed object, producing an enlarged image that is viewed through eyepieces. See also prism binoculars.
